I have this thing that I tell my boys…my oldest is 8 and I tell him that he’s “my favorite 8 year old boy in the whole world”. The same for my 6 year old and I will do the same with the youngest. Matt, the 8 year old, has told me many times that I am “the best mom anybody could ever have,” or “the best mom in the whole world”. How’s that for sweet? At Matt’s school they have a school “store”. They earn points on a daily basis and can then spend their points at the store. He has come home with some pretty neat things that he has bought. The neatest thing, though, is when he presented me with a pretty pink frame that says “Best Mom” at the top. I almost cried right there in the middle of the school hallway. He said it cost me a whole 20 points!! That’s a lot of points. I hugged him and hugged him with him fighting me off the whole time because we were still at school and someone might see!! I told him that it would always be one of my favorite things because he got it for me all by himself. This is the same boy who didn’t even want to sign my birthday card last year. He is very closed with his feelings and doesn’t like to be overt with his emotions.
Kids are the best. When they do something like that, without any prompting from anyone, it will just about break your heart with the emotions it brings on. I love my boys. I will post a photo of the frame so you all can see how sweet it is.

I had 2 boys…and 3 girls…I can empathize with your feelings…;o) Since mine are grown I can tell you that you are in for more such happy times. When they are around 10 years old or so…one day they will look at you and say something about how beautiful you are…mine both did that and a boy in a family I lived with once did the same thing…he was 11. Even though they may not be as close as daughters when they get older you will still be verrry special to your sons…;o)
Blessings,
Nancy

I really miss my kids being young when I read stories like the one about the frame. I miss all those wonderful goodies they brought home. Even if it was just a small clay pot that had a pencil eraser pressed into it to make the designs..lol. It’s all priceless isn’t it?

That is such a sweet story about the frame. I would have cried! Sounds like you have the whole mom thing figured out pretty well. I just had 1 son-now 28. He is married and living in NE Texas (I saw you on the GDS website–left you a msg there). I have 1 grandson who is the inspiration for most of my pages. If you can design, you are way ahead of me. I just plug along and make a few pages every now and then.
